Appleton (AP) - Kimberly-Clark hopes to trim 1,000 jobs across the United States through voluntary severance.
CEO Thomas Falk said today the buyouts will be offered to salaried and hourly non-production employees.

Falk says the company will also freeze its defined benefit pension plan at the end of the year for all non-union employees, reducing expenses by $40 million.
