MADISON (AP) — The White House is reporting that the federal stimulus created or saved more than 10,000 jobs in Wisconsin.
The report released Friday by President Barack Obama's Administration covers stimulus spending through Sept. 30. It only includes jobs calculated to be directly impacted by the stimulus money.
Nationwide, the White House said about 650,000 jobs were created or saved.
The state and University of Wisconsin previously reported about 8,400 jobs were created or saved. The additional jobs were from businesses, contractors, local governments and nonprofit groups and universities other than UW.
The report does not cover the impact of stimulus money that was spent on tax cuts, direct payments to individuals or unemployment benefits.
