Mich. children learn about the life of a beaver

BURTON, Mich. (AP) — Children in Burton are learning just how busy beavers can be.

A workshop called "Beaver Builders" is scheduled for Thursday at For-Mar Nature Preserve and Arboretum. The event is part of the park's "Knee-High Naturalist" series.

Children ages 3 to 6 will explore the life of the beaver and make puppets. Advance registration was required and cost $3.

Upcoming events for children at the Genesee County complex include a a Nov. 11-12 workshop on how animals defend themselves and a Nov. 14 puppet show about turkeys.
