Freshman Ashley Holz tossed a perfect game, the first in WIAA State Softball Tournament history, as the Oakfield Oaks defeated Thorp 6-0 Saturday morning to claim Wisconsin's Division 4 State Championship.

Holz struck out three during her historic performance, and she was backed up by an Oaks offense which took advantage of five Thorp errors.

Nichole Nolan opened the scoring in the 3rd with an RBI single.  Oakfield then scored three runs off four Thorp errors in the bottom of the fifth.  Bethanee Dix added a two run single in the sixth to make it a 6-0 game.

The state title is Oakfield's second in school history, as they also won gold in 1997.
