Marquette County, Mich (WFRV)- Five hundred people have been evacuated, while firefighters in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula work to put out a 777-acre forest fire.
The DNR says more than 50 firefighters from 7 different fire departments are on the scene. Eight bulldozers, nine tanker engines, and an overhead team are also working to put out the fire. As of 9am, the DNR says that 65% of the fire had been contained.
All homes and subdivisions along County Road 581 between County Road CS and County Road PG have been evacuated. No injuries have been reported.
