There are many pieces of equipment involved in the operation and cleaning of a swimming pool. These include the pump and motor, the filter, and the sweeper or cleaner, as well as all the pipes and hoses. For minor equipment repair problems such as leaking hoses, loose parts, or blocked skimmers, you may be able to fix them yourself. However, due to the many types of pumps, filters, and other equipment, you should call an authorized pool repair company before attempting to make any repairs yourself. If something sounds abnormal, turn the pool off and check for blocked inlets, hoses, or drains. Unless you have experience, however, do not attempt to work on the pump or motor because there is a danger of electrical shock. For more information on equipment repair, contact a pool specialist.
