Low-fat or no-fat label claims
A good rule to follow on fat is 'the lower, the better!' Too much fat in a diet can contribute to heart disease and cancer. When looking at food labels, saturated fat is now listed separately because it is considered a main component in raising the cholesterol level and risk of heart disease.
Sodium label claims
The new food label calls it sodium, you call it salt or table salt. Regardless, too much sodium leads to high blood pressure in some people. On food labels the phrase 'sodium free' indicates less than five milligrams of sodium per serving, and there is no sodium chloride in the ingredients.
