For cholesterol, choose foods with a low percent of daily value. Daily values are listed for people who eat between two thousand and two thousand five hundred calories each day. Too much cholesterol, a second cousin to fat, can lead to heart disease. A diet low in fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol will reduce the risk of heart disease in most people. Things like your family health history, smoking, obesity, and diabetes also affect your risk of heart disease. Challenge yourself to eat less than three hundred milligrams of cholesterol each day to help you in your fight against heart disease. For more information on cholesterol, contact a health care professional.
