ST. NAZIANZ (WFRV) -- Five months after her truck went through the Lake Winnebago Ice, a St. Nazianz girl is showing remarkable progress.

Seven year-old Tiffany Dombrowski spent over thirty minutes underwater in the February 14th accident that killed 9 year-old Savannah Kleinhans and her father Dan Kleinhans.  Tiffany spent five weeks in the hospital recovering, but her parents were told she may never be the same.

Since then, Tiffany has not only relearned how to walk and talk, but has nearly reached the same physical level as any other seven year-old.  She showed Channel 5’s Jenna Sachs some of her favorite things to do, including computer games, playing soccer outside and jumping on the trampoline.

She also enjoys some teasing with her older siblings. "I like squirting water guns at my brothers," Tiffany revealed.

Tiffany’s parents call her recovery thus far a miracle, but says she’s been helped by dozens of people.  Her father wants to thank everyone, from the volunteer firefighters on the scene of the accident, to the doctors at the Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee.
“I don’t know how to possibly thank everyone that was involved,” said Michael Dombrowski, Tiffany’s father.  "There’s so much joy and happiness in our hearts that we have her back with us."

Tiffany’s parents are also pleased with her cognitive development so far, but say she is going to summer school to continue catching up to other kids her age.

Tiffany’s parents regularly update a blog on her progress at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/princesstiffany.  Visitors can also make donations toward the family’s medical expenses on the website.
