Boaters cautioned to steer clear of dredging barges

Boaters on the fox river this weekend are being told to steer clear of one another and of the dredging barges north of the de pere dam.

The PCB dredging project is in full swing once again, and there is a lot of equipment in the water.

Earlier this week, a boater ran over a pipeline used in the project. That put a kink in the pipeline and the project was stalled for a half-hour.

Workers are asking you treat water construction zones the same way you would treat highway contruction, by using caution.

This is the second year the dredging is taking place, as part of the ten year Fox River cleanup project.
