Town of Dunbar (WFRV) – Channel 5’s Chelly Boutott is on the scene in Marinette County, where the body of a man was discovered Monday in a creek south of US Highway 8 in the Town of Dunbar.
Today, Chelly talked to sheriff's deputies, who tell her that they suspect the man did not die of natural causes. They say a trout fisherman discovered the body and called them Monday afternoon. The body was reportedly partially clothed, and was discovered in a 2 1/2 feet of water.
The police department from Iron Mountain, Michigan was also called in, because the discovery may solve a missing persons case they are investigating.
28-year old Eric Volp was last seen in October of 2008. He left a local tavern alone at bar time and was never seen again.
More identifying characteristics can’t be determined until after an autopsy is performed. The procedure is scheduled for Wednesday morning.
