GREEN BAY (WFRV) - On February 8, 2010 at approximately 6:01 pm, a vehicle struck construction equipment in the closed portion of the Hwy 172 eastbound near Ashland Avenue in the Village of Ashwaubenon, Brown County.

A 2002 Chrysler town and country van driven by Emily Schultz, 50, of Green Bay, took the Vanderperren Way ramp, which is closed, to get onto Hwy 172 eastbound. Once on Hwy 172, the vehicle struck a large pile of ground up concrete and dirt which caused the vehicle to become air born and land on the driver’s side. The vehicle then slid down the highway.

A seatbelt was worn by the driver. There were no injuries or traffic backups as a result of this crash. Roads were dry at the time of the crash.

The driver was issued a citation failure to obey a sign. The ramp is closed with construction barrels and barricades along with a sign saying ramp closed and another sign saying no right turn.

Brown County Sheriff’s Department and Ashwaubenon Public Safety assisted on scene.
