Town of Leon (WFRV) – A man has been arrested and charged in the Town of Leon for allegedly breeding roosters for cock-fighting.

Authorities say they stormed David Janke’s home and seized 157 roosters and chickens.
Before the search warrant was executed, an undercover agent arranged to buy 3 roosters from Janke under the pretense that he would make the birds fight. An undercover agent then bought the roosters for $900.

Officials also uncovered a cock-fighting article written by Janke.

The alleged breeder was arraigned Tuesday in Waushara County Circuit Court.
